Xbox 360 US console sales beat Wii during June

The US hardware figures for June showed?that Xbox 360 sales massively increased to 451,700 units sold, compared to 422,500 for the Wii. The launch of the Xbox 360 Slim in the US mid-June was the main driver for this surge, making-up 40% of the Xbox 360 sales. The Nintendo DS trumped all though, selling 510,700 units, with the PSP?only selling 121,000 units. The PS3 was bumped down to fourth place, selling 304,800 units.

Firefall Video Developers Diary #4

Here’s the fourth developer diary for the rather exciting MMOTPS (Massively Multiplayer Online Third Person Shooter) FireFall. Now this is an interesting title to keep an eye on as this will be using the rather snazzily coined “Freemium” model in which the game will be free to play but offer microtransaction enabled perks and items.

Overall this is looking quite stonking so enjoy.

Red Orchestra 2 Pushed Back

Tripwire Interactive today announces that the release date for Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is shifting back two weeks to September 13, 2011. While we understand the fans are clamoring to get their hands on the game, we felt we needed the extra two weeks to get it right and add the extra polish the game (and the players) deserve.
